GENERAL RETREAT INFORMATION:

The Saint John Neumann Renewal Center is a Catholic Center provided by the Diocese of Pensacola - Tallahassee and staffed by the Sisters of Saint Joseph of St. Augustine, Florida. Our facility is open to persons who earnestly desire to grow in their personal relationship with God and neighbor. The strength and compassion of Jesus and Mary and the care of Joseph are central to the spirit of the Saint John Neumann Renewal Center.

The center responds to the growing awareness that spirituality involves the whole person and that his or her yearning for God and personal growth are closely related. By offering the Center as a place of renewal, hospitality and peace, the Diocese or Pensacola - Tallahassee affirms the belief that people of our time are seeking deeper prayer, simpler lifestyle, opportunities to explore vital questions, and people to be with them when they take risks as Christians.

With individuals and with groups, we endeavor to integrate spirituality with psychology and social responsibility affirming the worth of these in religious experience.

What is a Retreat?

It is a time one takes to focus on his/her journey to God. Reading Scripture, reflection on God's word, prayer and faith response are integral parts of this time. The period of time, a weekend or a week, will be determined by the individual seeking spiritual growth.

We invite the individuals to a time away, a break of a few days to rest or just for a few hours, to pray, to re-focus energy, to review life experiences... in an atmosphere of quiet, supplemented by the presence of a supportive community at the Center.

Directed and Private Retreats:

Directed and private retreats may be arranged by calling (850) 224-2971. In an individually directed retreat the director and retreatant meet daily to discern God's call and what faith response can be made to that call. In private the individual spends time in prayer and reflection but may not have the assistance of a director.

Spiritual Direction:

Ongoing spiritual direction is available and may be arranged by calling (850) 224-2971.

Reservations:

Your group may make arrangements to use the Renewal Center when it is available.
